Even if you stand alone, keep building; YOUR OPINION MATTERS

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,

because he has anointed me

to preach good news to the poor

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners

and recovery of sight for the blind,

to release the oppressed,

to proclaim the year of the Lord's Favor.

Luke 4:18-19

We are not boasting of things beyond our measure in other men's labors. But we

have hope that when your faith is increased, our region shall be greatly enlarged by you,

to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you and not to boast in another's man's

accomplishments. But, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."

For it is not he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

2 Corinthians 10: 15-18

We find throughout the bible to encourage someone is a command. How can we encourage someone?

Pointing out to someone a quality you appreciate in him or her.

Respecting someone's opinion by listening to understand

Hold back your critical comments about others and focus on the good in them.

Search for ways to get along with others

Challenge someone to join you in a project.

Support those who are weak by loving them and praying for them

Think of a situation that tries your patience, and plan ahead of time how you can stay calm

Do good to those who mistreat you

Tell God your concerns and cares

Make a list of your God given gifts and give thanks for each one

Avoid situations where you will be drawn into temptations.

Realize the christian life is to be lived not in our own strength but in God's power.

All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth,
for those who keep His Covenant and His Testimonies.

Who is the man who fears the Lord?
He will teach him in the way? He should choose.
He will dwell at ease, and his descendants will inherit the land.

The counsel of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will
make His Covenant known to them.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He will lead my feet from
the net.

11) Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in an upright path,
because of my enemies.
Psalm 25
Psalm 27

Psalm of David
Apr. 13, 2018

"It is reported among the nations-and Geshem says it is true-that you and the Jews are plotting a revolt, and therefore you are building the wall. Moreever, according to these reports you are about to become their king, and have even appointed prophets, to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem: "There is a king in Judah!" Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us come together."

I sent him this reply: 'Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head."

They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, "Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed."

But I prayed. "Now strengthen my hands."

One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, "Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close teh temple doors, because men are coming to kill you-by night they are coming to kill you."

But I said, "Should a person like me run away? Or should one like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!" I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. He had been hired to intimadate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.

Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, because of what they have done, remember also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who have been trying to intimidate me.

Nehemiah 6:6-14

Nehemiah did not have the support of the people. Shemaiah, Noadiah, and many of the nobles were working against him. When Nehemiah was attacked personaly, he refused to give into fear and flee to the temple. According to God's Law, it would have been wrong for Nehemiah to go into the temple to hide he wasn't a priest.

If he had run for his life, he would have undermined the courage he was trying to instill in the people. Leaders are targets for attacks.

Make it a practice to pray for those in authority. Request God to give them strength to stand against personal attacks and temptations. They need God-given courage to overcome fear.

Integrity and fear of God were the key character traits that qualifies us to govern God's people. People of Integrity can be trusted to carry out their work;

God-fearing people can be expected to do so in line with God's Priorities. You need both qualities which stands the test of time through faith.
